What Sadaqah Jariyah actually means?

Being a non-Muslim, I never heard about Sadaqah Jariyah. Someone told me that it is a kind of charity that provides you with rewards for as long as people benefit from your good deeds. When a man passes away, his good deeds will also reach to an end except for three:

In other words, Sadawah Jariyah is ceaseless charity which could include activities like plant a tree, build a mosque, build a school, create water well, and teach dua.

Sadaqah is defined as any act of giving out of compassion, love, friendship (fraternity) or generosity. Jariyah means “continuous”. On combining these two, the final result is one of the most beloved actions to Allah. Sadaqah Jariyah was started by two brothers in Islam, frustrated by how difficult it was to connect those with the desire to donate with those who needed the donations the most.

Muslims believe that this is an outstanding activity done by individuals who keep advantage despite the death of the individual who started it. Let’s take an example. The organization of a madarassa or mosque from which individuals are advised will be sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) for the individual who recognized it. Having a well dug or a colour or fruit shrub placed will also collect excellent actions for a individual, provided that the well or shrub advantages individuals.
